“Life is better when you are laughing” is a saying that sums up my personality.  In my twenties not only did I become a mother but also a carer for my disabled grandmother, all before qualifying as a family law solicitor. From then on, I seem to always be trying to take care of other people’s business.  My way of dealing with difficult circumstances has been to rely on humour, which can seem almost impossible some days, but it, together with a slice of cake, has helped me try to maintain a positive mental attitude.
